I had been to 156 Bistro once before for drinks and always considered it a lounge or pub however the food tells a different story. I went to Bistro 156 on a Thursday night taking advantage of Burlington Dines Out 2 meals for $30 which runs through the end of February. I went with my roommate and we split the Calamari as an appetizer. The actual Calamari was a little smaller that I am used to however the Aioli sauce more than made up for the size. The Aioli sauce would remind you of the Spicy sauce they sometimes use on sushi creamy, spicy but not too spicy. The calamari was fried to perfection. I had the Chicken Roulade which was a chicken breast (a little on the small side) stuffed with fresh spinach, prosciutto ham, roasted red peppers and FRESH mozzarella. It was topped with a really nice light sauce. and served with roasted potato wedges and a fresh vegetable. My roommate had a Bistro Burger which was INCREDIBLE!!! It had Gorgonzola Cheese not only on the burger but in it too and the Beef was soo jucey and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside they were also sprinkled with sea salt and parsley. There is no kids menu. The best that you can do is get $10-$12 sliders and the regular menu is too sophisticated for even a kid who eats out regularly. The Wait and hostess staff went above and beyond bringing an ice cream Sunday to an instantly VERY HAPPY child. The staff was attentive and accommodating and we will be recommending this restaurant to our friends and family.
